Rob began his legal career primarily focused on consumer protection cases that violate the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act (FDCPA). Rob has advocated tirelessly for thousands of clients with debt and credit issues, who fell victim to debt collectors and debt settlement companies that use unfair, deceptive, and abusive practices. Rob quickly identified an opportunity to better serve consumers and quickly expanded the firm’s scope of practice to include defending collection lawsuits for consumers across Chicagoland.
Rob is a co-founder of the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Consumer Debt and Credit Clinic. Rob is a graduate of the Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he earned his law degree and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Rob enjoys spending time hiking with his family and reading spy novels. He also enjoys spending time with his young son, building skyscrapers with Legos, playing board games, and participating in imaginary play with anything involving a superhero and a cape.
Seth McCormick, Senior Attorney
Attorney Seth McCormick is a strong advocate for consumers. Seth’s previous experience litigating on behalf of creditors provides him with intimate knowledge of the inner workings of consumer law. At the same time, his experience representing hedge funds and banks has given him insight into collections practices at all levels of these creditors.
Seth witnessed first hand the aggressive debt collection methods and tactics used by these companies designed to put undue amounts of pressure on consumers to take advantage of them. Seth thrives under these circumstances by turning the tables on financial institutions and using his practiced knowledge of consumer protection laws to secure a meaningful recovery for our clients. The best part is that these victories come at no cost to the client, as laws dictate that a bank, lender or debt collector must pay all legal fees.
