There are different instructions to search for a case in each county. Select your county below:

*Note: In all the instructions “Plaintiff” is the name of the company suing you

  1. Click this link for: Cook County Case Look-up
  2. Select a division: “Civil cases under $30k.”
  3. Enter your case number without dashes or letters.
    Example: 2022100000
  4. Click “Start New Search”.
  5. Click on the case with your name and the appropriate plaintiff’s name.



  1. Click this link for: DuPage County Case Look-up
  2. Scroll down to “Search by Case Number.”
  3. Enter your case number without dashes.
    Example: 2022100000
  4. Click search.
  5. Click on the case with your name and the appropriate plaintiff’s name.
  6. Alternatively, scroll further down the page and you can search by case name. Enter first and last name.



  1. Click this link for: Lake County Case Look-up
  2. You must register an account to access the public records.
  3. In the Search Criteria section select “Case Number.”
  4. Enter your case number following the example below without dashes.

    5. Note: Add “00” (2 zeros) after the letters in your case number, then then remaining digits.

  5. Click Submit.
  6. Click on the case with your name and the appropriate plaintiff’s name.

  2. Scroll down the page and click “Case Information Search.”
  3. Enter your case number without dashes.
    Example: 2022100000
  4. Click “Search.”
  5. Click “Click on your Case Number to Open,” your name and the appropriate plaintiff’s name.



  1. Click this link for the Kane County:
    Kane County Case Look-up
  2. Scroll down the page and click
    “Smart Search.”
  3. Under “Search Criteria” enter your case number
    without dashes.
    Example: 2022100000
  4. Click the box next to “I’m not a Robot.”
  5. Click “Submit”.
  6. Click your case number next to your name and the appropriate plaintiff’s name.
